Chop Chop Inc Machines List: All Machines & Unlock Order

✔ Last checked: 2026-08-30

Chop Chop Inc gates its machines behind a clear progression: hand stations first, then the base, then the Work Hall, and finally the exotic-material processors for stone, metal, and electric timber. Knowing what unlocks when — and what to buy first — saves hours of wasted coins on machines that sit idle. This page lists every station and machine confirmed by the community, grouped by game phase, with a recommended purchase order at the end. For the confidence-labeled evidence behind each machine’s existence, see the confirmed machines list.

Phase 1: Manual Stations (Pre-Automation)

These are the hand-operated stations you place around camp in the first hours. They cost materials rather than requiring any building prerequisite.

Station What It Does Notes
Sawhorse Processes birch and apple trunks into beams and planks Your first station; everything downstream depends on it
Workbench Assembles furniture (stools, tables, benches) Manual crafting hub until automation arrives
Drone Landing Pad Ships finished furniture; hit the red button to dispatch Your sell button — ship early, ship often
Grindstone Upgrades axes — feed it stone wood to unlock the stone axe Unlocked through Chester at the starting camp
Wooden PC Mail-orders supplies: nails, screws, consumables Also used for quest purchases like the 2,000-coin Borek ticket
Furnace Smelts metal wood into ingots Needed before any metal-tier machine components

Phase 2: The Work Hall Gate

Every true machine in the game sits behind one build chain: base first, then the Work Hall next to the house, then machines. Until both structures stand, the machine construction menu simply does not appear. Machines then cost cash plus crafted components — often refined parts from metal trees — so keep your furnace running while you build.

Phase 3: Core Automation Machines

Built from the Work Hall, these form the standard log-to-furniture line:

  • Auto Tree Chopper — farms a loaded tree recipe on a ~90-second respawn loop; pay only at setup or recipe switch. Full mechanics in the auto harvester guide.
  • Auto Harvester 3000 — batch-processes stumps into trunks; let each cut finish before adding more stumps.
  • Saws / Splitters / Planers — convert logs into planks and refined stock; the saw is the consensus first machine purchase.
  • Conveyors, carts, and auto-sellers — routing and distribution; splitters direct wood by type so exotic logs never share a line with common timber.
  • Storage bins — buffers between stages; they absorb surges and keep machines from starving.
  • Powered benches — automated assembly for blueprint queues and furniture sets.
  • Bober’s Automatic Furniture Crafter — the flagship auto-crafter; complete the Borek quest afterward for a reported 50% speed boost on all auto machines (verify in-game).
  • Warehouse Auto Crafter — a separate station inside the warehouse; some recipes are auto-only and can only be made here.

Note that Hotfix #4 (August 11, 2026) doubled auto tree harvester speed, so size your saws and splitters for the faster post-patch flow.

Phase 4: Exotic Material Processors

The weird trees each demand their own processing machine before their material enters your line:

Machine Input Tree Output
Crusher Stone trees Stone stock — note stone wood’s confirmed headline use is the grindstone axe upgrade
Smelter Metal trees Ingots (alongside the basic furnace)
Wiring Station Electric trees Electrical components
Generator — Powers electric-process machines
Electronics Press Ingots + components Batteries and electronics; reportedly unlocked via Brother Lewis and built with 20 ingots and 8 screws (verify in-game)

Electric timber pairs naturally with battery storage, and the Electronics Press consumes hamsters when producing batteries — which brings us to the strangest machine tier.

Phase 5: Hamstertech

After completing Mama Hamster’s questline (she lives in Whisper Cave), you unlock Hamstertech: hamsters that run looping machines, including cogwheel mining rigs and their own cage builds. Keep spares on hand — both the Mysterious Well’s Flying Hamster ritual and the Electronics Press battery recipe spend hamsters, and running out stalls two separate systems at once.

  1. Sawhorse → Workbench → Drone Pad — the manual money loop; no automation matters until this earns steadily.
  2. Grindstone + axe upgrades — note the stone tree dependency runs backwards: stone wood unlocks the stone axe, not the other way around. Higher tiers speed up late biomes, and machines cannot compensate for trees you cannot access yet.
  3. Base, then Work Hall — the single biggest gate in the game; grind the materials in one push.
  4. First saw — the consensus first machine buy; it removes the worst manual chore.
  5. Auto Tree Chopper + storage bins — hands-free log income with a buffer.
  6. Planer, then powered bench — only add converters once input is stable; an idle machine is wasted coins.
  7. Bober’s Auto Furniture Crafter + Borek quest — factory-wide speed boost.
  8. Warehouse + Warehouse Auto Crafter — unlocks the auto-only recipes.
  9. Crusher / Smelter / Wiring Station + Generator — as each exotic biome opens.
  10. Electronics Press + Hamstertech — the endgame battery economy.

FAQ

Why can't I build any machines yet?

Machines require the Work Hall, which requires the base. Finish both structures and the construction menu appears.

What is the best first machine to buy in Chop Chop Inc?

The saw. Log-to-plank conversion is the biggest early time sink, and every guide and player thread agrees it should be automated first.

What do stone, metal, and electric trees need?

Their own processors — crushers for stone, smelters for metal, wiring stations for electric — plus a generator for powered machines. Keep their logs off your common-wood conveyors.

How many auto-crafters are there?

Two distinct stations: Bober's Automatic Furniture Crafter (from the Work Hall) and the Warehouse Auto Crafter. Some recipes are auto-only and require the warehouse one.

What does the Electronics Press cost?

Community sources cite 20 ingots and 8 screws, unlocked through Brother Lewis (verify in-game — single-source figure). Battery production also consumes hamsters.
