The well takes 666 gold. That’s it. That’s the puzzle. Not crops, not eggs, not the chicken meat everyone tries first — you use the “Put Goods Inside” prompt and feed it money, and the number is exactly the one you’re now nodding about.

✅ Solved, and solved by the best possible witness. A self-identified pre-release tester answered this on the Steam forums and confirmed the developers kept the number in the shipping build. Another player replied simply: they kept it in, it’s still 666.

The clue you walked past

The pentagram-and-coins drawing is inside the well, which is a beautifully rude bit of design: to read the hint you have to lean into the thing you’re trying to open. Most players glance at a well, think “food goes in a well, apparently,” and leave. The game told you it wanted money the whole time.

What’s down there

Paying up drops you into a lava chamber built around a chicken statue called Priscilla, with a sacrifice bowl in front of her and four pillars, each carrying a hint for a separate ritual. This is the payoff — and it’s cosmetic chaos rather than progression.

The ritual set reported by guides runs roughly: a hamster plus a balloon makes flying hamsters spawn across the map; a raw duck carves a duck-faced Mount Rushmore into the landscape; an egg plus Gold Wood produces a Golden Egg; and grilled chicken legs plus a Golden Egg get you black chickens that lay more Golden Eggs.

We’re labeling the exact quantities 🔄 rather than ✅. One guide gives a tidy four-row table. Forum players who did it describe the same ingredients but list them in messier bundles — two ducks here, a couple of roasted chickens there. The item types are well-corroborated. The precise counts per pillar rest on a single tidy source, so bring spares and don’t trust a shopping list from anyone, us included.

The honest disappointment

There is no achievement here. We checked this specifically because “well achievement” is exactly the kind of thing a completionist would burn an hour on. The three hidden achievements are the secret dev room, killing the Chicken King (a boss called King Nugget), and destroying every zen stone in the world. The well is not on the list.

Open it anyway. A lava basement with a chicken idol and an infinite golden-egg economy is not something you skip because Steam declined to give you a popup.
